The CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2023 will be held in Las Vegas on Jan 5-8 - and one you can expect to see are German Bionic’s Cray X exoskeleton!
German Bionic is one of the first few companies that introduced connected exoskeletons for the workplace, made specially for physically demanding jobs. The Cray X for example, provides mechanical support for lifting and carrying heavy objects, and supports wearers in their movement to prevent poor posture, and all that would encourage injury.
Equipped with AI, the suit uses an assistance system to alert wearers on whether they’re i.e. carrying objects incorrectly, when they should take a break, or any other important pieces of data to avoid accidents.
🌱 TECH FOR SUSTAINABILITYHydrogen fuel from water in thin air 💨
You read that right.
Although it’s still deep in development, and can take ~10 years before it is commercially available, researchers from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) Lausanne have created a device that can produce hydrogen fuel from humid air, with the help of solar energy!
The device, when exposed to sunlight, can extract the water content from the humidity of the air to give out hydrogen gas - which can be used as renewable solar fuel for various applications.
