🤸 FUN PRODUCT WE LOVE
Decode customer feedback and interactions with Deep Talk 💬
We talked about using tools like HappyScribe to help transcribe your calls with customers, but going back to read every line and finding out what they mean takes an even longer time… not with Deep Talk 😉
Deep Talk’s platform makes use of artificial intelligence to analyze text, tweets, emails, chats, surveys and any conversational data to turn them into actionable insights for you and your team. By simply uploading a text doc as a .csv file or straight from Intercom, mapping columns to their platform to train your analysis model - you’ll find word clouds and sunburst graphs of most keywords used, trending topics related to those keywords and its evolutions in time, related tweets by others and more!
Use Deep Talk to help your product development teams have a better idea on user’s main concerns while being updated on what everyone else in the industry is talking about! Pricing starts from $0 (yay!) with a credit of 50K rows of data to analyze.
💭 TECH FOOD FOR THOUGHT
How can we boost more women in tech/engineering? 🦾
Think you have a good idea of the situation of women in tech? 🙋♀️ Test your knowledge - as of 2020:
Only 5% of tech startups are owned by women
Only 28% of tech startups have at least 1 female founder
Women make up 28.8% of the tech workforce, a steady increase of 1-2% in the previous years
At this rate, it would still take more than 10 years for women to gain equal representation
In such a tech-driven world, you’d think the scales wouldn’t tip as much as they are - but it seems we’re still picking up the consequences of toxic cultures and mindsets of “tech/engineering is only for boys” or “women are better in other industries, like F&B or fashion”.
This is quite disheartening. And we’re going to do something about it ⚡️
We’re thinking of putting together a few initiatives to help boost more women and girls in tech. We’re still brainstorming through potential workshops, mentorships or events, but we’d love to hear what you think! Let us know if you have any ideas at all 💙
🌱 TECH FOR SUSTAINABILITY
Solar panels made with crops that doesn’t rely on sunlight 🌤
Solar panels being too expensive with production, may not be an issue anymore! 👏 29 year-old Filipino engineering student, Carvey Ehren Maigue, developed revolutionary solar panels that use luminescent particles from fruits and vegetables! He won the James Dyson Foundation Sustainability Award in 2020.
To create the panels, crops from natural disasters like typhoons are upcycled - which are then crushed, juiced and filtered to extract the luminescent particles, and then suspended in resin. These particles absorb the sun’s UV rays and turn them into visible light, which the panels then convert into electricity.
UV rays still hit us even on a cloudy day, so even without sunlight, homes and skyscrapers with this exterior can still absorb UV that bounces off walls, pavements and other buildings!
💥 WHAT’S ON @ SPARKMATE
Now accepting Crypto payments ₿💸
You can’t be in the world of Web3 without a crypto wallet - so we went ahead and got one 😇 If you’re planning on doing the same with your company, here’s how we did it:
Check with your accountant, see what you need to accept crypto payment. Our accountants are our mates at Sleek!
Register your company on a crypto exchange and pass the KYC (“Know Your Customer”) process. We used Binance to register but man the KYC process is rough - they asked us more questions than HSBC 😂
Set up your wallets for the cryptocurrencies you want to use. We’re mainly using Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana!
Add the wallet ID’s on your invoices, and you’re ready to invoice in crypto!
Exciting things are happening every day ⚡️ Follow us on social media to stay tuned!
